Keeping the Home Fires Burning George has recently been making representations to local authorities and the Scottish Government on a policy which he hoped would never be at risk. The Scottish Government are scrapping the previous Labour Governments central heating package, which allowed thousands of pensioners up to £3 500 of central heating. It has been shunned to make way for the Scottish Governments new Energy Assistance Package, which will only target the poorest pensioners, and leave thousands who rely on this support to fend for themselves.
