George recently put a motion to Parliament in protest of the Scottish Government’s neglect of students through difficult economic times. This came after reports demonstrated a 20% rise in student rent in Edinburgh in just 4 years..
The Scottish Government had the support of many students when they promised to "scrap student debt", who are now paying in excess of £70 per week just on rent.
George said, "Scrapping the graduate endowment has done nothing to help our poorest students, and the Government is failing to help those who are seriously struggling to make ends meet. They cut Educational Maintenance Allowances and changed rules...
